Talk, walk scheduled in Carlisle to explore archeological history

Carlisle will celebrate Massachusetts Archaeology Month with a talk about the town's archeological history and a walk that features the community's interesting sites.

The first of two events sponsored by the Gleason Public Library is a discussion about Indian ceremonial structures in town. The discussion will be led by Carlisle resident Tim Fohl, who has worked with the Narragansett and Wampanoag tribes, and Curtiss Hoffman, chairman of the anthropology department at Bridgewater State College.

The event is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Monday.

Fohl also will lead a walk on archeological sites. It begins at 2 p.m. Oct. 22 and starts from the Town Hall parking lot.
