Despite the fact that our daily lives immerse us in a world of different sounds, sound art is an often-overlooked sensory experience. The Ri has once again joined forces with Martyn Ware's Illustrious Company to remedy the situation by taking a look at how new findings in science and technology are enabling artists to devise challenges to the way we hear our world. Much of
the art you'll see demonstrated is interactive -imagine being able to control the sounds you hear by dancing in a different way. In the case of
Luciana Haill's work, a sensor around your head could enable you to control the music with your brain! The field of archeoacoustics will make an
appearance as well, asking how ancient peoples optimised the acoustics of their sites. Many of the artists add digital visual elements to their work,
making this event a feast for the eyes as well as the ears.
