Hello I'm new here, though I do know some of you from other stoney places...
I've been doing a bit of research on French sites using this website, (thanks especially to The Captain) so I thought I'd return the favour to the website by posting a few of my pics of some hunebedden on the (mostly) unpopulated Dutch pages.
I was surprised by one of The Captain's notes - that none of the Dutch sites have Latitude and Longitude refs. Indeed they don't. I'd be happy to add some of these, but I don't know how to!
In fact, as I was adding a couple of new sites (one Dutch, one German, yes, I managed in the end, Alan!) it asked me for Lat and Long co-ordinates. So I don't quite understand how all the hunebedden have been entered without Lat and Long co-ordinates in the first place though.
It has to be said, that for most hunebedden, especially the ones in or very close to the villages you don't need a map ref to find them. Mostly the villages are *so* small that once you're there you'll either see a signpost or you can work out where they are from a standard road map. This has been my usual method. There are a few toughies to find, like D16 Balloo and D49 Papeloze Kerk/Schoonoord which took me three separate trips to finally find!
Any road up, nice to meet you all.

And many thanks indeed for these postings. Its great to have them here.
I have tried to add coordinates for the stated nearest village to these sites, but havnt had time to do them all yet. It really helps when they have some coordinates, even if they are not very accurate, as all its neighbours jump onto the site page, and a little map can be created.
Thanks again.

by the way, if you know any more accurate coordinates, just post them here in a message, and we'll get them included.

For whatever reason, I got myself all keen on the Dutch Hunebedden after SFBs picture postings. Went to Stamfords, bought myself a reasonable map of Drenthe, and spent the weekend sorting out the Dutch Hunnebed site pages. Nothing like finishing off a job once started. Think I got all 55 sorted, with just two still to de done, for the removed D33 and D48 for which I believe only a capstone survives.
If you check them out, they now all have geographic coordinates, link up together and can be seen on the portals maps.

I've changed all coordinates. Now they've got GPS-precision.
