I am going to sugest here that Neanderthals were in all probability Cananites. It must be bourne in mind in this connection that the Tipical Neanderthal characteristics were due to rickets and the harsh conditions of the post flof thod ice age which can be dated conventionally 50,000 to 20,000 BP which is very close to the date of the Biblical flood 2349/48 BC or 4500 BP
I have sugested some while back here at the Megalithic Portal that Neanderthals were archaic humans and were more robust and powerfull than modern humans .
Some young earth creation scientists have radio carbon dated Neanderthals to 4500 BP. I theorised that if more powerfull than modern humans then some of them might have been responsible for the construction of Stone Henge but this is speculation

Hi John,
It's pretty much accepted that the Neandertal Era closed about 30,000 years ago - and this is only an extreme remnant of them. Most were gone long before this.
They were 2nd cousins of Homo Sapiens - not direct ancestors.
They are found to have been a lot more advanced than we thought only a few years ago. They attended their dead with ceremony, had iconography, cared for their young and old, obviously made tools and probably had a pretty good language-system.
Their weapons were effective and they most likely had spears, but the bow & arrow was not theirs. They were short, robust, very powerful and thrived more effectively in cooler climates than we do/did.
Recent evidence strongly suggests that they interacted with 'us' culturally and almost certainly sexually. (We have some peculiar DNA strains.)
They showed up around 200,000 years ago.
We showed up around 110,000 years ago, so must have been neighbors for quite a while.
Biblical Scholars date the 'Flood' to around 4,300 BP - long after Neandertalensis was gone. They could have had nothing to do with building Megalithic Monuments.
Most serious modern Creationists acknowledge the true age of Earth as being 4.6 Billion Years and accept the progression of life from simple to complex.
In fact, the only real distinction between them and Paleontologists, et.al. is the means or rationale by which this progression took place, ie Intelligent Design or Evolution.
In fact, many scientists in this field have strong faith in a Divine Entity.
It is pretty unlikely that the entire genus of Homo Neandertal had Rickets.
While it is not known precisely why they became extinct, climate-change and competition with us are possible reasons which are frequently given.

Hi Niel many thanks for your feedback and indeed a most interesting concept of yours.
True to say there are what I would label "Armstrong Crationists" who place Neanderthal Man before the flood and call them the Nephilim giants who were destroyed by the biblical flood and indeed would support your view on this concept which is certainly something most interesting to consider.
I also believe the Neanderthals could be the product shall we say of "forces" outside of "plannet earth"
However I believe that before the great flood the earth was supported by a "Water Vapour Cannopy" which keptthe polar regions and the whole earth in a tropical state; thus the colapse of this cannopy plus water released from volcanism led to a world wide flood proceeded immediately afterwood by a rappid post flood ice age (However this author was not there at the time).
In conclusion Niel I keep an open mind on this subject and am in much aggreement with what you have sugested ie Neanderthals cared for the sick (A very human emotion) and also as Dr Jack Cuozzo sugests had a language and could paint pictures on the walls of their caves and indeed bury their dead in Red Ochre Paint also with Holyhocks.
This sugests to me that Neanderthals could have been capable of Neoithic civilization (Perhaps a mixed ecconamy of hunterhathering and aggriculturewho Knows?
As for armstrong creationists to reject an ice age I think is nonsense when all the evidencr to the contrary supports the Ice age. John

Hi Sem yes indeed I can although I would place them abit later. If you click on Neanderthal/Nephilim on the google search engine you will find it that the Neanderthals were giants perhaps inthe sense that they were more powerful and more robust than modern humans and the hpaper I am reffuring to is a creationist paper which has radio carbon dated the Neanderthals just before the flood (2349/48 BC) or roughly 4500 BP

Collin Wilson wrote a book entitled "Atlantis Lost Empire of the Neanderthals" and I think he dated them to 7000 BC I think he is infuring that they had Caananite origens.
Dr Jack Cuozzo and myself encluded would aggree with the above statement that Neanderthal was more heavilly built and thus stronger and more powerfull than modern humans
I believe that the Neanderthals could have been "half-breed humans as the result of interbreeding with "Fallen Entities" before the great flood and perhaps also after that infuring that the Neanderthals were the "Giants of Old " refurred to in Genesis 6 verse 4 and in conclusion would I sugest aggree with the statement that Neanderthals were 2nd cousins to Modern Man, John

Finally I would date Neanderthal Man on the Biblical timeline during the rappid severn hundred year Post Flood Ice Age about 2200 BC to 1500 BC and perhaps allittle earlier about 2225 BC.
Thus it should be bourne in mind in this connection that there are tribes in North Africa including some Australian abourigines and New Calledonians who share the typical Neanderthal Characteristics.
In Conclusion what about the Almas in remote parts of Russia? Could these people be a Neanderthal Remnent who supposedly became extinct about 30,000 yrs ago? John
