" The Long Man Of Wilmington " is 240' high, he is situated between 2 churches exactly North, South, East &, West. People were able to walk on him at one time, but because of causing damage, they are no longer able to do so. The Long Man once wore a helmet &, had facial features, along with 2 feet. The Long Man holds 2 lay sticks, one in each hand.
I have been told by a historian in England where The Long Man sits in the country side, that it is possible that The Long Man could be an image of my " Dodman Ancestors " who surveyed the english coast line &, made roads using Lay Sticks. In Norfolk dialect the " DODMAN " is reffered to as the
" SNAIL!!!! " This comes from my ancestors who surveyed all across England.
The Long Man Of Wilmington is dated back to the time of the Saxons or Neolithic period.
If any more info can be added to this letter would be deeply appreciated!!!!!!!!!!!

The long man faces almost due North. A lot of information can be found here.
The site was cleared in the neolithic. According to the latest papers, there is a 50/50 chance that the long man existed prior to the 16th century. Say if you need more specific information.

Can't take credit for that: It's from the local archaeological society. They have sent me the latest papers but they're not published yet, so if you need to know anything specific let me know?
