Keith Stevens writes: Dear Andy,

Forgive me if I have asked this before. Is the stone circle (six flat lying stones, limestone, badly eroded) near Dale End, genuine. It is not listed on any of the circle sites, including yours. The stones look very similar to those at Arbor Low, but smaller.

Hello Keith,
No it's not a genuine (recognised) stone circle otherwise it would be listed here:

http://www.pastscape.org.uk/SearchResults.aspx?rational=m&maplat=53.13441902&maplong=-1.78399071&mapist=os&mapilo=-1.7840&mapila=53.1344&mapiloe=w&mapilan=n&mapios=SK144597&mapigrn=359750&mapigre=414450&mapipc=&mapisa=1000&sort=2&recordsperpage=10

Presumably modern, it looks too obvious to have just been missed by the OS surveyors. Perhaps some rearranged stones that were nearby - does anyone in the forum know?

Thanks
Andy
