Lorna Richardson writes: I am collecting data for my research into Public Archaeology online. This survey asks how people use the Internet to access information about archaeology.
I am trying to get as many people to complete this as possible, especially those involved in community archaeology as volunteers [this means you, dear Meg portal contributors!].
The survey is totally anonymous, and all the data is kept on a secure server at UCL. The data collected will provide a much clearer picture of the impact that the Internet has had on the profession from the perspective of the user, and help inform future digital projects. I will make a summary of the information available on my blog, http://digipubarch.org/, later in the year.
The survey can be found here: https://t.co/LITHaYuL
Thanks to everyone for your support and your participation. Please get in touch if you want any further information.
With thanks
Lorna

The survey starts with various simple questions about your internet access but it gets more interesting:
10. Which archaeology websites have you visited in the last month, including your including your own or your organisation's website, if you have one?
12. Which archaeology website is your favourite and why?
15. How do you prefer to take part in archaeology forums or social media?
16. Is there anything that would encourage you to participate more on these social media?
Far be it from me to suggest how you might respond, but it would be great to get some feedback to Lorna on what we spend our time on out here independent of the conventional archaeology institutions.
Go on you know you want to...

Did she say how long the survey will be active and accepting responses?

Just replied.
Thought my opinion of online archaeology might allow a few brick-bats to be chucked.
"Archaeology online can be like watching your neighbours' holiday pics - here's one of me in a funny hat, here's one of me wearing another funny hat, here's one of me showing my bum, here's one of me and my drunken mates showing our bums etc. Occassionally you find a bum that interests you but funny hats are a turn-off."
Well done Lorna, people should be allowed their say and MegP is exactly that.

Not sure at the moment, hopefully long enough for lots of people to find it and contribute

Done.
Obviously, the easy-to-use, comprehensive, interactive, and thoroughly responsive English Heritage Site got my whole-hearted endorsement.
(That was a joke!)
