A documentary programme in six parts, which is starting on Tuesday 2nd October 2012 with the country's history.
Huw Edwards (he's a newsreader, usually) "begins by visiting the world's largest prehistoric copper mine and an Iron Age hill fort".
(I hope he includes some of the other great megalithic sites in Wales!)
They are all getting in on the act, aren't they?
Haven't seen Andrew Marr's 'History of the World' yet - unless you count the intervals in 'Downton Abbey' when I switched over during the adverts! Now Huw Edwards...
Wonder who'll be the first to grow their hair long like Neil Oliver... ?

He IS getting to be a bit of a 'presenter' of Welsh sites on the big Meg P meets (I forgot that!), but I *really* can't imagine Sem with long hair, Cerrig!
Next time you two go out on site visits get him to put on a wig so we can all see the result. A few people have made short videos posing as Neil Oliver, and I reckon Sem would be good at that! lol.

A good prehistoric start to this programme but what is it with Huw Edwards - his delivery is so terrible and wooden. It's like the excruciating commentary on the Olympic Opening Ceremony. What is it with giving History programmes to news types - Andrew Marr is just as irritiating in his own way.
Makes me appreciate Neil Oliver - but not in that way - I laughed when the producers kept repeating the line about the prehistoric man with 'flowing locks giving him a great presence' or whatever it was.
Oh no Huw's onto cliched 'history programme' hand gestures (a la David Mitchell) now and there's (so hackneyed) hammering and whooshing music as they introduce Pentre Ifan.

Oh no 'people with complex needs' - what the f***
Whoever wrote this script wants shooting.
If I hear another whooshing or hammering noise on a scene cut I'm going to scream - perhaps I should turn it into a drinking game...

It's lucky that Huw didn't describe any of the sites as being 'Wales' Stonehenge', eh, Andy?
Can just see your face if he had!!
Neil might not have got his Scot's tongue around the Welsh pronunciations, otherwise he'd have been so much better. However, I did like the sites they featured.
Who do you think would have been most ideal for this job..?
(apart from Sem or Cerrig...)

Yes, I thought your comments were hilarious, and re-reading them [his 'hand gestures' bit] just reminds me of Dan Cruickshank's presentation methods....
While I love his enthusiasm, it seems that - as he's getting older - his arms have gathered speed.. His gestures are distracting to watch, and I'm sitting here, wondering when he's going to get lift-off! I don't think I've seen him since the Avebury Manor prog. Aubrey Manning used to be quite a good presenter with his landscape progs that included megalithic sites.
Is David Mitchell the guy on 'Would I Lie to You'? I love that prog.
I also thought that was funny-ironic, about the prehistoric man whose flowing locks gave him 'presence'!! ha!ha!! You don't fancy Neil, then, Andy...?
