Is it possible there was a direct link via wats dyke with maesbury to the hillfort in Saxon times? This landscape mimicks another down south with another maesbury being close to a hillfort? Is it maybe something to do with celestial or lunar alignments? I know they had many gods which may have a bearing on the subject...
