Just been to Stanwick Iron Age Fort where the Brigantes under King Venutius fought their last stand against the Romans (boo!) sometime in the CE70s. Ridiculous lack of information and much of it fenced off, or dangerous due to a herd of cattle.
The scale of it is breathtaking though, it covers several square miles and the banks are absolutely vast. A nice mediaeval church in the middle too, if you like that kind of thing.
