How did they build Stonehenge? The pyramids. Where is the lost Ark? Who developed the Clovis point? Did the Neanderthals wear cloths?
Why did they paint in those caves?
If you were able to know the answer to one ancient mystery, which one would it be?
I would want to know this:
Did human digestion evolve as a jack-of-all-trades or are different groups of humans evolved to eat specific foods?

This one would be a good one to have a vote on. Lets take some more suggestions and I'll turn it into a fun poll.

I'd like to know exactly what the Iron age people did with their dead, and the rites behind it? AlsoI'd like the answer to an enduring and ongoing mystery, Where did I put my spare set of Car keys??

Here's a fun Question:
How did the Neoliths pass such accurate information from generation to generation?

It would appear that some groups seem better able to deal with dairy products for example.

I reckon Cerrig qualifies.
He's definitely both ancient and a mystery!

Think I would want to know how advanced were ancient civilisations, thinking of Paracas, Peru (elongated scull peoples), Puma Punka and the 'stone-engineering'. Did peoples of that time travel around the globe sharing knowledge? Of the natural disasters that happened, what impact did that have on advanced civilisations and how does that relate to paleolithic peoples/ neanderthal peoples..... oh and did homo-sapiens and neanderthals 'get it together' ........... What are free standing stone circles for? Oh and rock art thinking particularly of Cairnbaan, Ormaig and Achnacree, were they places for excarnation?.....

oh and John in answer to your question, I think peoples of different area would have had intolerences to certain foodstuffs until their bodies (possibly through genes) built up a tolerance... just what is the appendix for? munching/ digesting grasses, that we no longer do?

Hasn't it recently been found to be a major contributor to the endocrine/immune system?

tDrusin thank-you for the link(its great), theories I have briefly read about, however i think if there had been more arrowheads or slingshot (stones) found in great number at stone rows or circles then maybe it would be probable.or even more bones! But like a modern barn maybe many uses, ie a barn livestock holding, fodder holding, machinery holding, general stuff holding, or the occassional dance (ritual lol). many uses. oh and also why are so many aligned to the sun/moon, or other celestial bodies, or on lay -lines?
Runemage.... dunno but will read up! my wee brain goes off on many tangents and asks lots of questions,i like to try to look at all aspects, especially those that are practical for day-to-day living.

What were the buildings on the Ness of Brodgar actually used for?

Good posit, Rune, I wonder that, as well. Definitely a spooky place! Oh and I meant to say, who is the Tall Man on the zuni wall art?

there are all sorts of vestigial body parts, nipples on men... what i do find interesting is milk and gluten intolerance rates among asian jewish and african peoples. I am of south east asian descent through a vietnamese mother and have a blue eyed father of german stock. Interestingly my father can drink gallons of milk without a care in the world and my mother and i cannot

There were skilled cave-painters and rock engravers. Why didn't Neolithic/ Bronze/ Iron age do any cave art to explain what was going on? Does McDonald's weaken your intestines?

Painting in caves ocurred throughout the periods you mention Australia , Americas .If there were any in Europe thay have not survived or are yet to be discovered but the caves were engraved in Europe .

Well the engraving in Europe is shoddy and substandard. It wasn't a very helpful stone age at all. People pay good money to do the sites (which are inconveniently placed far apart may I add) and what do they get?
