Interesting stuff indeed Ocifant, thank-you.

That coring technique sounds accurate and not too invasive, I wonder if it will be used in the future on other mounds that have until now been considered to be the age of their latest construction, rather than an approach of repeatedly using a site over millennia. It was used in the TV prog about Egypt shown last night.

Silbaby was cored at the same time as Marlborough by the same team. More work is being done when the funds are available.
