Fourteen years on from our first posting of stone circle photos online, there are still a huge number of stone circles listed in the big black Aubrey Burl book that we don't have a photo or any information on. I know this because Dr Burl was kind enough to let us use his data to kick off our Megalith Map all those years ago, so our site contains all his listings.

So this is a call to see if we can get a few more of these other stone circles visited. I'm also going to be going through the references given in the Burl book for these remaining mysterious circles to see what details I can find in them.

As a recap, on our maps red=photo, green=no photo, so here are the 'green' circles (also including grey 'destroyed' circles where it would still be interesting to get a photo of the location)

You may have to click on 'next matches' at the bottom of the page to see more locations:

I've only included countries in the Burl book but you can check other countries yourself.

I've got some photos of Westmoorgate circle somewhere in my collection, but there's really not a lot to see. The moor is quite featureless at this point.

The stones barely protrude from the ground and are amongst lots of other stones, all of which seem to form arcs. In fact, it's difficult to tell if you're actually at the circle at all!

I'll see if I can dig anything out from my archive...

I've had a look at some of the other 'green' sites on Dartmoor and have found photos several sites that we didn't have on Geograph! Great fun armchair research. See my latest photos. I've had a look at some of the Welsh sites, and thay don't seem to match up to the entries on Coflein. I'm thinking of some Monmouthshire sites ( one of which , probably Grey hill, has been moved to the bottom of Llandegvedd reservoir) and also Odyn Fach north of Tredegar.
Which particular book are these from.

I thought Grey (Gray) Hill was OK. I thought it was one of my early site pages I'd given a sort out to, but having just looked, thats clearly not the case, although I have entered some details as a comment.

The area clearly does need a sort out, I'll try and find my old notes and make a start.
