Having been a feature for some time now, I have decided that I like the Geograph, Panoramio and Flickr images which show on the site pages. It is perhaps the feature that I spend most time on now, as I click on the pictures, and surf on through the resulting pictures and galleries.
I think the original aim was to try and get pictures of sites we have no pictures of, and often this has been spectacularly successful. But I now also like to see pictures of other things nearby. It gives a good feel for the area, often with outstanding landscape pictures resulting, and all sorts of other interesting stuff.
But the point of this comment is that the feature switches off if the portal has site pictures (or more than a few). Any chance this could be set to show for all sites ? ( I seem to remember somebody didn't like it, so the feature was "downgraded", so perhaps this should be left to the individual somehow?)

I agree they are good. They do slow down the page loading so it didn't seem like a good idea to have everything on at once by default.
However you can get them by clicking on "Turn on all information for this site" just below the map. I will see about making this 'sticky' so you don't have to this on each page.
