A special one: full Moon night and summer solstice - only once in 8 years!

I've decided to go to Long Meg. The alignments I noticed at the spring equinox have intrigued me.
Terry (partner) has a GPS, which gives sun and moon rising and setting times for a particular location. I asked him to look up June 20th/21st at Long Meg and these are the following times.

Sunset 20th June 21.51
Moon set 21st June 03.04
Sun rise 21st June 04.33

Sun actually directly overhead at Tropic of Cancer at 0646 GMT(UT) or 0746 BST

The moon may look like a full moon even though its not officially full until 04.14 GMT on the 22nd June.

Now only have to wish for clear skies, and it will be fantastic.

Anyone doing anything in Kent ?

I have spent a couple of nights at Coldrum, but it was windy, raining and cold both times, so I was there alone [while my ex-better half stayed in bed].

If anyone fancies it I will drive to the foot of the slope and open my van to all

I'm new to all this but I'm going to be staying near castlerigg stone circle in the lakes over the summer solstice, do people go up there for midnight and do anything interesting or will I be sat there on my own?

I'm not anonymous its just I'm not registered, I do definately have a name though.

Nicola - how easy is it to get to Long Meg from parking for a disabled person? It looks to be one of the closest sites to where we're staying (Renwick), but I need to find somewhere my good wife can reach. She can only walk short distances, and that only with the aid of a stick at the moment...

We fancy the Sunset, a few short hours sleep, then returning for the Sunrise. Your times are useful, thanks. If we see you there, I'll be the bald git with a camera backpack.

By my memory Long Meg is a flat walk and only a few yards from the road.

Yep, hopefully see you there Ocifant! Access is pretty good, but parking is limited, so you would probably be wise to get there early. I'm hoping to stay there all night, I'm on a mission for Jackme. Can't wait. Praying for good weather now
