Anyone who knows of a Stonehenge replica that we may not have posted on the Clonehenge blog is invited to get in touch with me here at the Portal. We have most of the big ones from Maryhill, Washington to Nong Nooch Gardens in Thailand to the one at the planetarium in Kuala Lumpur to the Stonehenge Conference Center in South Africa, plus many little ones like Cockington Greene's model in Australia and Babbacombe Village in England and the Legoland version, with lots of small homemade ones in between. We would especially appreciate it if you have a picture of any we don't have that you'd be willing to let us post. (Did I mention the one in Tasmania?)
We have posted U.S. replicas like Carhenge, Autohenge, Fridgehenge, two in Texas, a beautiful one in a private garden in Michigan, and the one in a golf course in Montana, also one by an airfield in Illinois (plus examples in Kentucky, Colorado, and Oklahoma). We know there are more out there, particularly private ones built in gardens in Europe and the U.K. Keep your eyes open and let us know!
While I'm at it I should mention that a fellow in the U.K. who calls himself Captain Henge has put out the call for photos of homemade henges, the more ridiculous the better, for a contest he calls the International Virtual Henge-fest 2009. He held one in 2007 and the results can be seen on his Myspace site. The key words from the first Henge-fest announcement are "Is it lame? Only if you're sober!" The Captain has no connection with the Clonehenge blog except a common awe of people's ingenuity when it comes to making henges.
Thank you in advance for any help.
