At last, after 2 years of delay and dithering, we are within days of purchasing this ruined scheduled ancient monument set in 5 acres of land, to allow access to the road. The Heritage Lottery Fund are helping us with this, the first phase. The second will be to re-erect the monument.
We need help:- donations, volunteers, artists, poets. Our main aim is to demonstrate to local people that they have an ancient heritage to celebrate and be proud of.

Well, The Sustainable Trust do now own the Quoit.

We'll put it back up using as little machinery as we can. There's a local legend that no man can re-erect it so we will probably have to have a large team of women

Tasteful? Dunno. The intention at present is to keep what we do around the quoit low key and sustainable - the clue to our approach to things is in the name of our trust.
