Watched the show, but found it a bit "stodgey", almost as if they were deliberately drawing it out or trying to inject a false sense of expectation about the dating. Oh for the days of Chronicle and pre-dumbed down Horizon.

i guess as with most programmes of this nature they try to appeal a wide audience and was dumbed down a little. i did find it interesting to watch the archive footage of Atkinson back in the 60's and to see inside the tunnel when it was re-excavated recently and the incredible amount of 'iron mongery' as it was referred to in there plus there was the engaging mike parker pearson sharing his views on the subject
