This one's for Brionnfhionn, regarding the newly added St. Helen's Well site at Colne:

I'm most intrigued by it and I've gotta bittova fixation on old Helen wells. The mass of lore about them relates them to such animistic creatures as banshees, hooded spectres and cailleachs, along with the other usual ingredients. We've got tons of 'em up north - though you don't have as many in Lancs as we have in Yorkshire. Still, this is a new n' to me. Izzit easily accessed? I'm gonna be in Colne tomorrow, checking out a few previously lost sites on the northern edge of the town, so if I've got time I'd like to check it out (otherwise I'll have to see it sometime during the Shamania Festival, which is just a few miles away upon the hillside near Blacko).
Have you got any further, earlier references to the site? You've got me going!!!
Cheers - Paul
