Hi
The March 2005 issue of Northern Earth magazine has an article on the legend:

http://www.northernearth.co.uk/home.htm

If you contact them they may be able to give you more details.

All the best.

Thanks coldrum ive sent off for these just wanted to find out a bit quicker if i could my sisters have bought the pub that stands on the land where the farm was. Weve been there 10 weeks now glasses come off the bar and smash by themselves. Oldashtrays have flown off shelves at us. One of the staff heard a woman screaming in the cellar in the disco room you just get a really strong feeling that someone is there and its getting worse. When we took the pub the old chain from the old farm gate was there with a script about it my middle sister joined the chain back together and thats when it started to get really bad you cant put anything downand find it again in the same place.

Hi
The only other thing I can think of is to see if local studies could help you.

http://www.leeds.gov.uk/page.aspx?pageidentifier=6D44C20FE6A1A57E80256E1D0040569A

They might have some old documents that could shed some light on this.

And the Leeds Paranormal Research Fellowship & Affiliates Network and Paranormal Activity Research Team
might also be able to help.

Out of interest what is the Pub called. I've read a few books on haunted pubs so it might ring some bells.

All the best with your search.

The location of the pub would be very useful too.

Another idea is to have a look and ask in your local library.
They should have a selection of local interest books including books on local ghost stories and folklore.

Tracy_Innit,
Rather odd seeing your post about the gate.
I used to live on kentmere Avenue, just by the gate pub.
Its a good sledging spot behind the pub when it snows.

I never spent much time in there, but my father played five and threes dominos all of the time in the gate.

I may be up in Leeds over the holidays, I will try and have a dowse around the area , and see what I can find, my stepfather lives above there now on eastdean drive, my mother married him in the church over the road from the gate, can't remember the name?
I should have bothered to check out the church before now as its a new one, I normally find they are not correctly aligned, they are aligned to compass bearings , not what all the old ones are, but the church is normally where an old site will previously have been.

Tracy_Innit,
St Richards, yes indeed, and me best man?
If you look through this site, there are overheads of kentmere avenue, and Foxwood, where I was supposed to be at school ( always used to escape, and go fishing at roundhay )
