A display case of objects acquired by the Somerset County Museums Service through as a result of the Treasure Act and the work of the Portable Antiquities Scheme has been broken into and two gold, gem-set finger rings have been stolen from it. The rings (pictured ) were just two of around 50 items in the case, including other rings, dress accessories, coins, pottery and flint tools. Somerset Police are investigating the incident.
