LB, I think you'll find it is Littlestone-as-Chyknel that he is saying is a bully, though Littlestone hasn't been here. When he finally gets that through his skull he'll say Chyknel-as-Chyknel, who is here, is a bully as well, which will regularise the position.

No surprise there then. Insidious little man.

He's making a statement which is totally, categorically INcorrect so he most certainly IS attacking someone who isn't here, as Andy can be shown beyond question if he so requests.

I really don't give a flying fig about your attempts to protect your friend by poring over my psychological profile or citing the suspicions of others, I AIN'T LITTLESTONE, I never was, I never will be, I can prove it* and you and MM are making total fools of yourselves.

Now, that's your lot so far as responses from me are concerned. Contact Andy if you wish to persist.

Tut-tut... Thou protesteth too much little one.

* Go on then - do it.

Paul you are completely up the creek with this one, they are two separate persons, two separate identities, do not hold a passport in common, and their details are not on the missing discs, take my word for it....

So gimme their I.D.'s then.

...But note: the pattern which occurs on sites is being echoed again here. It's happened for a few years and is highly noticeable to anyone with an ounce o' nouse. First, one loud-mouthed individual makes little digs here and there to people who say things which he doesn't wanna hear, then when someone comes along and kicks the little dog, he gets others to come in and begin to defend him. It's now occurring here. Weird...

Let the individual concerned come out of the closet on their own accord.

> Please be aware that if certain individuals who love the sound of themselves on this and other websites (you know who I'm on about) are got rid of, the people working at and inside Silbury would be more helpful. Full stop.

Could I suggest that anyone with 'inside information' on any newsworthy subject who wants to make something known via our site gets in contact myself as Editor with details (see link at left.)

We would be happy to run properly written news items with any allegations, with full anonymity from the contributors if needed.

Please do not judge the rest of the site by what's posted in this forum.

We go to a lot of trouble to produce well researched and checked information in our site listings, maps, news items, feature articles, photos, links, etc etc.

I do find it very strange that some people do this.
Fortunately most intelligent people do clearly understand the difference.

Andy

Back to Silbury,
Does anyone know anything about the 'sarsen stones' that were found I think near the top of the hill during this excavation err I mean repair.

I'm after some info that says how many, how large and particularly how they were lying when found, in a circle, end to end or in a row or what? Deliberately buried, with any charcoal or bones or anything?? Destroyed circle or something else?

................................

Jesus wept! I feel like knocking all their heads together! I've not looked at this thread for a while, and just scanned pages 9 and 10 and could hardly believe my eyes! Thank heavens for Runemage's quiet voice amongst the storm!

Is it really too late to find answers to sensible questions like this? We all want to know about those stones, don't we?

Now, try to stop squabbling boys or I'll put you over my knee!!

Littlestone vs Chyknel2

Both Littlestone and Chyknel2 are using 'proper' ISP-based e-mail addresses from two different ISPs (eg someone@ntlworld.com although that is not either ISP).

Neither are using free or anonymous e-mail addresses eg. someone@hotmail.com that are usually used by people impersonating others.

So unless Littlestone has two ISP accounts (which seems unlikely) then he is telling the truth. Even before I had this information I think I believed Littlestone.

Given that 'Littlestone' is already an anonymous alias, why he would want a second anonymous alias one to protect his first anonymous alias from being found out as the other one is beyond me.

Can we have an end to this please.

Can we also have an end to rude messages to Aluta otherwise I will find out the culprits and...

You've been misinformed Aluta and have no reason to apologise. Calling him Eric Avebury is perfectly correct, its what he calls himself and is in line with the practice of most peers
http://ericavebury.blogspot.com/
He most certainly isn't "Mr Eric Lubbock" and hasn't been for decades. If you wanted to commit a huge faux pas (and I doubt if he would care about such things) then calling him that would do it.

Thankyou Mishkin and Andy.

It would be nice if all those who have persisted in the belief I was L. despite my clear and sincere assurances I wasn't ("because Littlestone is so bad he'd lie, wouldn't he?" - a modern version of a trial of a witch where she gets burned for confessing or burned for not confessing) acknowledged they were wrong and had acted extremely unfairly.

As I predicted though, ego-protection has dictated that the reverse process has kicked in and rather than an apology "You are bad Littlestone" has been replaced with "you are as bad as Littlestone". And so say you all??

PS - and the next thing will be "so who are you then?".
That won't be answered, so don't bother. (Not that I'm anyone in particular, sorry, but I prefer to be anonymous thanks, like many here, for exactly the same reasons as them).

Paulus/brigantia, it's been a couple of years now since I last posted on the Portal. It's been brought to my attention however that you and one or two others think Chyknel2 and I are one and the same person - we are most definitely not! I emailed Andy about the confusion last night and he has expressed his opinions above - I hope you and others here will now respect his opinions/requests and the matter will be laid to rest once and for all.

By the way cropredy (if you're reading this) though you and I have had serious disagreements elsewhere in the past, I like and respect your comments regarding Silbury here. Keep it going - in the end it's the future of Silbury that matters more than petty squabbling.

That's it. No point in responding to this post as I just popped in to say the above. Am on TMA and the Stones Mailing List of course if anyone wants to chat there.

Littlestone,
Petit problem with chatting with you on TMA, as a few of us have, hence the sour grapes.
I know you have the sites best interests at heart, and find it interesting looking in at the above site, as an onlooker.
My warmest of regards to all on there, especially Nigel Swift, who I have never met, certainly jousted with him somewhat, but admire greatly.
I will always read with delight the poetry, I always feel that the megaliths contain the substance that leads to such thoughts.
You may find it strange sir, but I hold you in high regard.

At one point though, I may have cheerfully walled you up inside the hill.
No, not even a little stone should be left in there, chalk and nothing but the chalk, please EH. FILL THE HILL.
Kevin
