Can you please remove all my images from this site please?
http://www.megalithic.co.uk/user.php?op=userinfo&uname=PeteG
I have recently had a legal battle about images that were illegaly sourced from this site.
After legal advise I now want ALL my images taken down especially the air photos.
thanks

Oh Pete - what a shame! We shall miss your lovely photos. Where can we see them from now on?

Pete,
Can you e-mail me with more information about this. If people have been illegally sourcing images from here then I want to know about it as it may affect more people than just you.
At least I finally understand your comment from last year...
Thanks,
Andy

What would you charge them to display a 200x150 thumbnail?
We are the most visited ancient sites web site I know of.
Our photos get noticed.
You can see that as a good thing and a bad thing.
I get enquiries about payment for using photos weekly,
quite often I have to turn them down as I have no way of contacting the photographer
(see the forum for two recent examples).
I don't have an e-mail address for you either by the way.

Deleted.
I did ask you to send me an e-mail about it, you have not done so.
That is the proper way to do it, not in a forum.
I still don't know your e-mail address.
You're also perfectly aware of my phone number if it's urgent.
I would like to have confirmed it is actually you making the request.
I would also like to say that JJ gave you a lift in his plane and
made it possible for you take the aerial photos
for the benefit of everyone, not just for your own personal profit.

Could you possibly implement a way for people to edit and delete their own submissions, I think that's only fair. I would like to replace a few photos with others processed on a better calibrated monitor than the old one which was lacking in contrast.

Tried to edit my post, computer went funny and whole thing disappered.
I think I said something along the lines of I would'nt really know if someone was using any of my pictures.
To be honest they're not the best on the planet but I do enjoy taking pictures.
A friend asked to use one of my Stonehenge pictures on her website which was fine by me.
She even acknowleged me and asked others to ask before using the picture.
It's nice if somone acknowledges a picture you've taken but at the end of the day the internets a big place and if someone wants to use a picture I've posted on here I probably would'nt know about it anyway.
At the end of the day, I like going to prehistoric sites, taking pictures and sharing them with others.

It's not a request that comes up very often Ken, in fact you're only the second person to ask...
Feel free to re-submit pictures and label the old ones for deletion.
Like Coldrum, most people don't mind their photos being re-used on personal or public information web sites as long as they are credited.
It's actually fairly easy to find if people are using your photos on the web if you put your mind to it with Google image search and so on - as Pete demonstrated. I've found quite a few Stone Pages ones over the years and reported them.

I agree with Ken totally here. If I had the personal ability to edit and/or change entries which I submitted to MegPortal (enabling me to correct any errors, or to put additional info at relevant points, etc), I'd certainly have put a lot more on here. Perhaps summat to think about...?
Cheers - Paul

Ken asked to change photos, that's not what you're asking for Paul, which is to edit pages. Changing photos is not at all easy to do, much easier to re-submit and replace.
What I've considered in the past is to allow page owners (ie 'submitted by' to edit their own main site pages, but up to now the consensus from the team here was not to go ahead with this. We could re-look at this.
I wouldn't propose comments being editable as that's fiddly to do, comments are comments. I prefer to pretend I'm making the comment in person and make completely sure of what I want to say before I say it.
