Thought this was interesting. Pretty cool structures. This whole archaeological site looks interesting.

Absolutely. Here's an interesting 2001 "trip report" of an Earthwatch Institute volunteer named Scott Norton:
http://www.kennethnorton.com/peru/chap4.html
It contains pics of the "town" itself as well as the towers.

...as if on cue - hello bat!
It's good to find some archaeoastronomy that Prof. Ruggles actually believes in, or am I being too harsh
...and the journos managed to write it without using the phrase 'like Stonehenge' anywhere - remarkable.

Wow, yet another reason for a sun follower to revisit Peru (last time was the eclipse in '94).
Here it is but I can't find the towers.
Yes I can, they're to the south east about a kilometre.

Site listing is up: http://www.megalithic.co.uk/article.php?sid=16322
and one for the towers: http://www.megalithic.co.uk/article.php?sid=16323
I can't double check the location at this computer, but it ought to be fine. Pull back and there are other building foundations in the desert surrounding the hill site and the towers. North east across the river there is another site as well.
