Gavrinis island is up for sale, see http://www.vladi-private-islands.de/rent/site/html/cms_de-sale_printable_flyer-714-0-0-en/ asking price of 3.5 million Euros. But this does not include the magnificently decorated megalithic tomb.

Now, how much can I get by cashing in my pension etc .......

Pierre-Ange LePogam bought Gavrinis for 3.5 million euros. He works as a producer and he sold his shares in Europacorp for 12 million euros to Luc Besson.
He has created since a new company called Stoneangel !

Drat, he didn't give me time to assimilate my assets

Thanks for the links Manu, the only bit of the article I couldn't work out was this bit, Googlemangle decided it was..

> En attendant, Pierre-Ange Le Pogam cingle vers Gavrinis sur un semi-rigide amphibie. <

>>Meanwhile, Pierre-Ange Le Pogam Gavrinis pings to a semi-rigid amphibian.<<

Hello Andy,
You got the right translation.

Now, if you don't have so much money, you can buy the largest dolmen we have in France (and #2 in Europe) :
http://www.ledolmendebagneux.com/dolmen-en-vente.php

It is on sale since 2005 so you might get a good price.
http://www.liberation.fr/vous/0101539419-dolmen-geant-a-vendre

23 meters long (75 feet) + a typical french "bar restaurant" + 2 flat for just....1.5 million euros !

I feel a bit stupid, I used to work in Saumur for 2 -3 weeks a year and never noticed this dolmen! maybe it is just a bit big and over touristified?

Unless you know of it, its well hidden behind large fences in the garden of the café. You can't get to see it without calling in the café.

There are many others around also, but as above, unless you are looking for them, I don't think youd find them by accident, unlike around Gennes a bit to the north.

If you lost the "Gavrinis sale" back in 2012.

You can buy these miniatures from Martin and Oliver Webb:
http://www.flickr.com/search/?w=29795076@N03&q=gavrinis

I do have a set of 5 stones and there are very nice.

On top of that, it is your homeland work because it is crafted in Malvern, Worcestershire!

http://www.finestoneminiatures.com/contact_us.htm

FYI, there website says : "We are very sorry to tell you that Fine Stone Miniatures has ceased trading as from 1st January 2013."...But I am pretty sure that they still have Gavrinis stone on hand because they did a bargain on it 6 month ago...

Enjoy !
Manu
