...the server did some sort of funny act. I've been at work and not able to access it. Now rebooted and all is well.

Don't know. The Portal gets very busy at peak periods such as lunchtimes and UK evenings as you will see by the number of visitors online at once.
I would like to get a second line put in to double the bandwidth available for serving Portal pages.
This will cost £68 for a new router (Netgear FVS124G to load share between 2 lines - this is the ebay price for a recon unit, we're bargain basement here - RRP £120)
Then an extra £35 a month ongoing cost for the line rental. (that's £35 a month on top of what I'm currently paying)
Although we have some advertising revenue coming in this is a lot of money for me to cough up myself. I think I may start a 'contribution thermometer' to see if we can get enough funds in place to upgrade.

Its struggling now, sort of stays green for quite a while.
You could open a paypal account or something?
By the way, if anyone could contact diego on the stones forum, my ez anti virus wont let me near it?, it says there are many infected items?Hope its OK.
I really appreciate this and that forum, they are invaluable , thank you.

We can already accept Paypal - see the 'Contribute...' link in the left hand menu towards the bottom of the page. If all regular users chipped in a fiver we'd be there in no time.
Cheers,
Andy

Andy B, been to the bit that says join up.
I will gladly send you a fiver now, no free presents or anything, but I dont know what to do?
Please make an idiot proof link available where I can give you a card number to deduct five pounds, as you say if everyone could do this now, it would make the site better for all of us, it pretty bloody good now.

Contribute link. The instructions there are as simple as I can make it. You could always buy a book or two as an alternative, that does the job just as well and you get a bit more for it. Thanks!
