A RARE fourth-century hairpin has gone on public view 150 years after it was found at the site of a Roman town in North Yorkshire.
English Heritage believes the three-and-a-half inch long Roman artefact, made from animal bone, is one of only a handful ever found in Britain with such a striking design, featuring a bird motif.
