why are people so crazy about experiening the solstice at stonehenge? Is it a commercial thing, or fashion? aren't better sites, and carnac comes to my mind where you can see the alignment of the sun with the megaliths...
Any opinion out there?

Most people don't know there are other stone circles other than Stonehenge. Unlike Stonehenge they just don't figure in the public consciousness. There are plenty of other tiny gatherings going on elsewhere as many regulars at this site know and attend. Whether they will let on their favourite sites is another matter!

Not sure about Cardiff but in Medway in Kent,it's usually Kits Coty and Coldrum stones.
