Thanks for this reminder Bernard. I kept meaning to leave a mention of it in the forum myself, as I've been looking at it for a few days now.
It's a pity that the webcam pointing to the stones is down at the moment. Does anyone know if it will be restored in time for June 12th (when I will be in N.Wales! - probably without access to a computer!)
On that subject:
Does anyone know if there's a meg site near Porthmadog where I can see anything remotely resembling the effect at Callanish??
Thanks
Angie

The lunar event hasn't been widely studied outside Callanish. The alignment could be present in many prehistoric sites, it needs observations to find it.

That last one was me by the way, by accident.

I don't know Angie, there is one at Glastonbury where the moon will rise at the left side of the Tor and seem to roll up the side of it to to Tower. Other places are Churchdown Hill near Staverton in Gloucestershire and on the edge of the Mendips. I don't know of any places in North Wales. I would have thought that if you can get up to Grid ref SH610324 You would have a good chance of seeing something from here.

ANGIE I've had a word with a friend who has lived at Portmadoc for many years, and she has never heard of a site such as you seek. Sorry.

Hi Angie,
Bryn Ceri Dhu on Anglesey
The view south is Snowdown.
I don't know if it will work, but it is where I would choose to be if I was a Porthmadog.
For me, I am thinking of Castlerigg, mountains to the south there too. Does anyone else have a suggestion for Cumbria? No mountains south of Long Meg

Well......As they say, theres no accounting for folk. If anyone's online at Callanish could they try and get the view from webcam 1 cleared? If you did ,the entire western world would be eternally grateful.
