I have attempted to download files so I can listen to them; windows doesn't recognise the files types - is there something I should be doing?

Which ones? A lot are RealAudio, best to use the BBC version of the player.

We use the BBC one to watch the Dr Who trailers!
Attempted to download some of the interviews and talks. Unsuccessful
