Whilst googling around the internet today I came across an interesting collection of old photos of prehistoric sites in UK and France. They were taken by a gentleman called Alvin Langdon Coburn who lived from 1882 to 1966.
Alvin Langdon Coburn's Photos
Although the photos are not dated and poorly annotated I can recognise many of my favourite sites in North Wales. Most thankfully look the same.
Can anybody tell from the dress of the people that are sometimes featured or the photos themselves when they were taken?
I think Alvin would have loved the Portal .

Very interesting. As regards dates - my guess is that they are about 1930.

Trawling through this site, there are a very few photos dated under 'notes'. For instance, Bryn Celli Ddu was taken in 1937, but there are earlier & later dates logged through the galleries. Also the Stonehenge pictures on pages 41-2 have white (paint?) markings. I have never seen any pictures of these before, but this should make them dateable.
