Having just read the previous post, (An innocent in tune with the stones). It has to make you feel that maybe there are forces unknown to us within or around some of our wonderful ancient sites. On many occasions, I have sometimes felt something when around the stones; call it a presence or just calmness.

In my youth I never even gave history a second thought, but upon a visit to Stonehenge, (which I too had only ever seen on a school trip years ago), something stirred inside of me. At that same time I had just met Liz, who I am now happily married to now, and she had always wanted to visit Avebury, as I did too. So we went for the day and had a great day walking around the full complex, taking in West Kennett, the Avenue, and the Sanctuary.
After which we were just in awe at what we had experienced.

We spend every other weekend exploring these countries great ancient mystical sites, just to get our fix. Maybe this is one addictive habit that won’t do you any harm.

I know what you mean.. addictive indeed! I do think, that the stones 'call' interested folk somehow... Quatermass or something...

There is *something* about these places, and many of them are good for us to go to (and some are hostile, I think).

Cheers

Tim (originally from Dorset!)
