Actually, I'm not always anonymous but one frequenter of this forum (no-one current) has sent me some pretty strange messages, so I prefer to err on the side of caution on this topic.
As it happens, I think it would be a good thing if anonymous posting was stopped as part of a re-organisation.

Anon i mouse , says he has had some strange messages from no-one current, at last we are back onto the thread subject , Paul Muir 30th March, Glastonbury.( energies etc )
His thinking may not be the same as mine, but I will listen and hopefully glean information, that may further the understanding of the content of this site.
I like many others love to listen in as such, to many of you discussing your finds and thoughts about them, please allow some slack, for others to join in, without feeling as though they will be almost pounced on, and worse still ridiculed.
If you were say at night school learning any subject, would you use the language and say the things about people, that is so freely thrown about some well known forums ?
Would you suddenly call another in that class, a nutter, or a troll, or say," take no notice of the moron , they will then go away"
Or would you tell someone to feck off, and find another class, one that closer matches your crazy ideas.
I have never witnessed anything along those lines, but for some reason ,highly intelligent , charming when you meet them people, turn into yobs on forums, they seem to assume possesion, and only want discussed what they are interested in, and possibly know a lot about and so feel comfortable in discussing.?
I feel a good idea on these forums would be a dunces hat, then anyone the forum moderater felt was using offensive language or just been stupid, could be placed off line, but left for all to see on the screen, sat in the corner of the screen, say for a couple of days, those times then could be increased if that person persisted, until eventually they were blocked all together.
I suppose the difficult part would be ,to be the moderatator, and be able to stand aloof and not let your own personal feelings become involved, difficult job, I would not relish it.
Please always remember no one is paying the likes of me, I am in no ones employ, I do not lie, and honestly only post that which at the time I believe is true, and what I detect, I am driven to work out these sites , with or without help, I apologise if at times that annoys or sounds arrogant, and beyond comprehension, I am on a fast learning curve, will always admit if I make a mistake or misunderstand a subject that is after all mind blowing.

Kevin

Seems that the point has been made. If we publish nonsense we attract nonsense. So be it - I'll go elsewhere when I want to talk about prehistoric sites

That illustrates the problem as I see it beautifully.
6.5 years brings us to December 2012 when, according to you on Stone Pages, the world is for it. One of Mike's ideas, that you've picked up and run with.

I don't want to go on with this so I'll say it once and then shut up:

Most people and most potential future users of this forum think such talk is baloney and don't want to be in an environment where it and similar stuff is being constantly pushed. That being so, Meg Portal's main forum has a choice - stay as it is, with a baloneyesque flavour and consequent limited usage, or expand hugely to the size this amazing site warrants. It can only do the latter by providing a discussion environment that most people find attractive and grown-up and stimulating. It's not doing that at the moment and a basic choice needs to be made IMO.

And which Half-wit TMAer do we have here?

Is that why you spend so much time over at TMA Pete? Talking prehistoric nonsense!
You know you can't ban people Pete, it just isn't possible. You've just got to put up or shut up me ol' mate.

Anon i mouse, aka, adolph,
Mike has gained my respect, not many do that, he has achieved that by being honest, to himself and his beliefs.

I think I've said everything I need to both here and at TMA.
