Is there any evidence that the Celtic Priests (Druids) used Stonehenge for their rituals? Or any stone circle? And what for?
It seems strange to me, if they did, as their sacred places were natural sites such as glades or rivers.

There isn't a single piece of evidence they did at any stonecircle site anywhere.
No golden sycles or druid burials have ever been found near a stonecircle.
Early writings say they worshipped in Tree Groves.
It was Stukeley who started the myth that Avebury and Stonehenge had druid connections (although John Aubrey also stated this previously) but then Stukeley was a reverend so viewed things through Xtian eyes.
Stukeley went on to found the new age druid movement we see today with blokes in frocks shouting at the sun at solstices and equinoxs.

Thanks PeteG for this. Didn't realise that it was Stukeley who started this rumour. Why doesn't someone tell these new-age-druid nutters the truth and why do they interview one on every documentary!? Talk about trying to change history....!! Any 'Druids' reading this??? Mithra.

TV companies always like to interview a nutty druid, this makes the archaeologists look good and covers up the nonesense most of them talk as well.
"Ritual and Ceremonial," in archaeo speak means "We don't have a clue!"
Anyone can be a druid. Put on a white frock and give yourself a fancy title and hey presto!
Instant druid.

Ps There are Far too may Arthurs and not enough Guinievere's!
I've lost count of the number of Merlins I've met at Avebury and oddly enough they all carry a sword named Excalibur.

Things are worse than I thought! So Arthur and Merlin were both Druids to these nutters then? Were they supposed to be? Mithra

I'd suggest you do some homework rather than rely on Petes drivel. I doubt you have EVER clapped your eyes on a REAL druid. Pete's probably met at least one recently but he's so rapped up in his own little world he's oblivious. Hope you get to read this before the 'good guys' get to edit.

Teehee! I love it when the ball gets smacked over the boundary and clatters through the Elm trees beyond....

Oh go on give it a go! To opt out now before you've had a go to convince us only seems to show that you cannot! Mithra.

You're prevaricating! I promise to listen nicely but rather looks like you have nothing to say at this point? Mithra.

Prevaricating? Yes. You know I always have something to say but, it is always you that prefers not to listen. What's changed then?

For Gomer's sake get on with it man! I'm giving you the opportunity to have your say! I've already told you I would listen ( ER...and WHEN did you ever listen to ME eh?) Cut the crap, You are trying to aggrevate, if you have nothing to put forward, fine-but I'm not continuing this as, it seems, I've already had the answer to my question. Or CAN you say otherwise? Mithra.
