A large prehistoric building older than Egypt’s pyramids has been discovered in Wales. The foundations of a meeting house which was at least 50ft long were uncovered as builders worked on a new housing estate in Monmouth.

Archaeologists are mystified by the 'unique' find and say that nothing like it has ever been found in Britain. Archaeologist Steve Clarke said: 'We’re not really sure what it is. It’s a mystery, but it’s the foundation for something. We haven’t seen anything like it.

Points of extreme interest to the good people intending to buy a house built on this "long lost lake" -
1 If it is long lost, why is there so much water there?
2 Just because Housing Developers say the water has been diverted, does the water understand their diversion?
3 Invest in property but make sure your house has stilts - take a tip from Bronze Age Wales!

It may have been a good idea to wait until they have radio carbon dates and a better idea of what is there before telling us what they think it is and how old etc.

So far it is some old wood in a puddle, not that rare in the Monmouth area!
