I would add a caveat on being too hard and fast with rules:
If the longest dimension is the vertical, what about fallen megaliths?
Many Victorian churches have a fine lichen growth and they're only 150 or so years old.
Size is important? Cerrig Duon stone circle in the upper Tawe valley in Powys has an avenue. None of the stones that it is comprised of are higher than your ankle.
It's a difficult one. One solution is "are they on the earliest printed maps?". But this is also flawed as of course many aren't.
Will you accept missing megaliths? ie. those that were mentioned in a local history 200 years ago, which no longer exist.

There have been IIRC good reports of lichen growth after the application of yoghurt.

A yoghurt/cowshit mixture is best for growth

From experience of regrassing banks like motorway cuttings etc the mixture is
Sour milk(yoghurt) 30% Cowshit 60% Grass seed 5%
Binder( jute fibers) 5%
It was a shitty job but somebody had to do itd

Oh dear, this was such a nice thread. But as happens so often, it's been dragged into agendaworld and the interesting stuff has gone.
Could we have a quota system here? 95% postings from those who think, for instance, that lizards and leylines are garbage, and 5% from the others? That would be about fair.

| And what precisely is wrong with our saurian friends ?
I once had a lizard called Mike
Who did wonderful things on a trike
But turning circles on wheels three
Was not good enough you see
So now he turns U's on a mono-bike.
No offence Mike, but the drunken muse is on me.

I'd be more impressed if you gave us your name. I have a good idea who you are but, I'd sooner hear it from you. 95% ***** is fine with me but, I'm not impressed with your anonimity. By all means slate me but, do offer something in return.
