thanks for the clarification. I have a Garmin gekko and I will try to change the format to decimal. I had already done the conversion on a sample site and figured out the decimal notation. I didn't know that my gekko could display lat and long in decimal. I appreciate your help.

our co-ordinates are in decimal degrees. Every GPS is possible to work with this format. You have to setup your GPS receiver.
If you don't want to change your GPS settings, than you have to convert.
An example:
decimal degrees: 51.4874
degrees: 51
minutes: 0.4874 * 60 = 29.244 -> 29
seconds: 0.244 * 60 = 14.64
result in your format: 51° 29' 14.64"
But manual conversion is to long winded. You can use a program for uploading waypoints to the GPS. Try G7ToWin, if you have a Garmin, Magellan or Lowrance/Eagle GPS. There exist many programs for this purpose, most are freeware.

I don't understand the way you have latitude and longitude entered on your sites. They appear in fractions, as opposed to my GPS which uses, for example, 43degrees West, 43minutes, and 341 seconds. Why do you have latitudes and longitudes the way you do and can I translate them into the lat and long my GPS uses?
