Flatcap,
The mad hatters tea party.
Alice passed through the looking glass?( did she?)
Lewis Carrol encoded many things in this fictional story?
A coincidence that now you wear a flat cap?
All the charectors will be there, I have worked out who will be who?
Many will say we two, are as mad as the March hare, but I will bet you 10/6 pence, that others will be better qualified, many will be doormouses, and
they will all move about around the table of Avebury?
Who will be humpty dumpty?, will he fall off the wall?
Who considers himself the king, will he put humpty together again?
I have bet myself 10/6 sixpence that you will pick tweedledum and tweed ledee the same as me?
Now jabberwocky is interesting, who will say he has slain him?
But if there be---O if there be,
A truth in what they say,
That angel-forms we cannot see,
go with us on our way;
Then surely she is with me here,
I dimly feel Her spirit near,
The morning mists grow thin and clear,
And death brings in the day.

Flatcap,
If you google Mithras, you will find a strange cult , that met underground?
with strong connections to Roman times, if someone had an interest in such times, perhaps they would adopt the name, or perhaps this strange belief system is still about? , acting in an undercover sort of way ?
Beware, I believe they ate the flesh of their sacrifices.
This megalithic world does hold some fascinating secrets ?
And through the portal ,I am learning all about it.

I do think that there maybe people who can dowse for WATER - it the fakes I'm aiming at and some of the claims that dowsing/divining can find a wide range of 'things'. I feel that it's an old tradition which has got somewhat out of hand with 'new-age' concepts.
Greatest respect for your Grandfather, and many others, who sank our old wells - but has anyone tried digging 45ft or so down, say 10feet, left or right of where they said it was? Just to find out if that was the average depth of the water table in area?
The last web site is just a demonstration of typical American trash on subjects like this and I felt that the other, 'randi.org/encyclopedia' had some very valid points. Mithra.

mithra,
I am also dowsing, but not with 6 feet long sticks, and I started dowsing after having experienced with my bare hands. I remember my grandpa finding water for neighbours with his stick when there was no other way to find water, and it was pretty costly to make a mistake (digging a 15 m hole did not take just a day). The water he found in the back of the garden is still there 30 years later... you might find many fakes in the dowsing world, like you would find in any hobby or job... how many people claim their are professional footballers, how manny GP will give you a different diagnostic for the same illness...
