Sure it is - "A campsite with views of a mighty iron age hill fort and all of Wiltshire to explore."

I'd say go for it. I'd contribute. Excellent publicity for the MP.

If its visible from Old Sarum I'm tempted to suggest we 'sponsor' their caravan in return for a monstrous banner but that's probably not the sort of advertising that will go down very well with our friends at EH. I will send you a Meg Portal T shirt though Robert if you send your address.

That's a pity, since Hudson’s Field is right next to Old Sarum. Maybe haggle a bit with them, explaining your reason for being there.

Best of luck with the project Robert, I hope you get some help with a caravan site. This sounds like a great one to get involved with, hopefully you can can send us some photos once the project gets underway.

We have volunteered to help recreate a Neolithic house as a member of an English Heritage project at Old Sarum, the project lasts for 9 weeks starting March 5th until May 4th 2013.

Our problem is our accommodation for this length of time,we have a touring caravan which we intend to use,and are members of the Caravan Club/Camping & Caravanning club, but as we are pensioners their site fees for this length of time is rather expensive, therefore we wondered if any of your members would know of a small cheap site/pitch on a farm or smallholding with electric and fresh water that we could use to enable us to volunteer for this very worthwhile project,

I have been a general builder all my life and at the end of my working career l worked for a church restoration company, the work was very enjoyable and l do like visiting all ancient sites/cathedrals etc.

We would be very grateful for any assistance or advice you or your members can give us.
