The stone pair Figgis refers to I think are this pair...The description matches their position. They are the two stones in photo at the top of the page...

These are the two stones I mentioned in my post being in a straight line with Gors Fawr circle and Carn Arthur up on the ridge.
I actually visited these last week and it is not easy getting to them now as the ground surrounding them is VERY boggy and they are almost lost in high thick grass..Which is a shame.

Those two stones might be the ones that NP Figgis in his "Prehistoric Preseli" calls Mynachlog-ddu stones, with an OS reference of
SN 13433048. Looks about right on my old OS 1:25000 SN 13 sheet. I can't extrapolate to a geographic reference.
He says (on page 97) "A small stone pair in the field beyond the north edge of the common; visible from the bank behind the Bluestone Memorial Stone. A putative third stone is no longer distinguishable."
Those stones are not marked on the 1:25,000 or the newer 1:50,000 map that I have.

The two large stones in the foreground of the zoomed photo are field clearance stones,there are hundreds of them around these parts...It may have been better if the local farmers had left them all where they were originally.

Yes I remember seeing the drilled holes , this stone does not have the feeling of a gate post,I think you will agree.
Also it is the low bank running around in a curve which has the stone standing on top of it which is only adding to the mystery.
The "V" shape cut out of the top of the upright is another puzzle. I stood next to the stone lined up with the flat sides of the stone and looked through the V shape and to my surprise it seems to aimed at Carn Arthur....
What about that stone on the ground ,it has had a lot of work done to it..Looks a bit special to me.
Speaking of Carn Arthur I made a little discovery,hopefully it is a new one ,if you draw a line from the centre of Gor Fawr stone circle to Carn Arthur,there is a pair of standing stones in a field just south of Cors Tewgyll bog. These stones are bang on that line...
I was VERY lucky that day,the rain did not arrive until I got back to the car and boy did it come down. You dare not cross the bog where we did last year at present,I have been told a couple of dogs have been lost recently,very sad...
The more I explore this landscape the more I am convinced there is more going on here than we may generally know...

I didn't mention the "fallen" stone but my pic does show it.
From my notes on the day I have it measured as approx 4ft with the standing one being 5ft (above ground). The standing one has a hole drilled on it's N face, possibly for use as a gate hanging, but the field boundary appears to be over 20yds away (a guessed measurement). Also the "V" notch cut at the top appears to be man-made.
Hope you didn't get too wet up there.

On a walk during last year Sem pointed out a standing stone off in a field south of Carn Menyn..Im sure he will remember which. On the way back from another walk on a day where the weather was deteriorating rapidly curiosity got the better of me I decide to be a bit naughty and have a closer look,with the weather the way it was there was no one about ....I went to see the stone but just look at what is on the ground next to it.... 
Its obvious this second stone has had a lot of work done to it...Even to my inexperienced eyes..
Also on the ground is clearly a low bank and this goes around in a curve ,the standing stone is directly on top of this bank.....
The stone stands at 51 57'05.90 N 4 42'08.90 W
OR if you know the lane leading south from Carn Menyn towards Mynachlogddu it is in the fourth field on the left at the southern end . When you get to the leaning old "gate post" look into the field on the left you wont miss it....
Over to you all does anyone have any information on this site? Even to my eyes it looks much more than just a single stone setting...Looking on Google Earth there seems to be a semi circular shape on the ground with the field boundary bisecting it....
