Seems to be coming along okay to me. At least give it a chance its only just started and there are some good contributors on the site who know what they're talking about. Don't condemn things with just one quick look, please.

I have to say that I am not very impressed - a shame really - excellent idea but poor execution - somehow there seems to be a lack of care - or am I missing something - sorry not for me

Of course, I didn't say monopoly but we do have 1196 listed and I hope you'll encourage some more contributions in return for plugging your site. I had a look when you first posted the link and didn't see anyone there apart from yourself, hence the comment.
Here's the link to our listings

Thanks

Sunny, I have to say why not post your thoughts here, you're much more likely to get a response. |

Andy, how can you possibly tell what kind of response a post on another forum might generate ? Especially as you haven't posted on it yourself.
Post on both, would be my advice, and good luck to you.

Done... though you might want to overhaul said page, several links seem to be dead.

Easy - just post the same stuff on both.
No-one has the monopoly on a subject, and different forums might produce different angles on it.

Yeah, I ought to claify perhaps -
The more arcane lore of canals, superstitions, legends, ghosts, etc - yes.
The nuts & bolts of canals, how locks work, boat specifications, etc - no.

Just to announce the birth of a new (October 2012) forum - HOLY WELLS & WATER LORE.
Subject matter extends to rivers and lakes (yes, including lake monsters) and other water lore and history, such as spas, canals, fountains....anything freshwater basically.
