This sounds interesting. The Northern Earth Mag is always a good read. With mention of the author John Billingsley, I have two of his books, and very good they are too.

10.15 Welcome address (Frank Woolrych) and Introduction (John Billingsley).
10.30 The Secret Map of Pendle: Ursula Holden-Gill. Storytelling based around the experiences of Jennet Device (1612 & 1634). Ursula has been an acclaimed TV actress (Teachers, Emmerdale), performance tutor and storyteller.
11.20 The Heptonstall witchcraft case of 1646: John Billingsley. The first of two summaries of local witchcraft cases. John is author of The Mixenden Treasure and Folk Tales from Calderdale, and editor of Northern Earth.

12.50 The Trials of Todmorden A major witchcraft panic of 1638: John Billingsley
1.15 The Causes of the Witch-Craze of 1612: Jonathan Lumby. Why did gentry in Pendle and Craven persecute those they deemed witches? With attention to the previous bewitchment of the Starkie family near Leigh, the case against Jennet Preston of Gisburn and the Samlesbury debacle. Jonathan is author of The Lancashire Witch Craze.

2.30 The Hag, The Herb & The Headless Baby: Dr Vivienne Crawford. This talk will focus on medicine as a contested site of authority in the Tudor & early Stuart periods, and place the witch-trials in the context of religious anxiety. Vivienne has expertise in early modern English literature, and has also lectured on plant chemistry.
3.00 The Magic of the Pendle Witches: Joyce Froome and Kerriann Godwin. What folk magic consisted of at the time of the Pendle case, including the opportunity to inspect objects like those used by cunning folk of the time. Joyce and KerriAnn work for the Boscastle Museum of Witchcraft in Cornwall; Joyce is author of Wicked Enchantments: a history of the Pendle Witches & their magic.
4.00-4.30 Close and exit.
