Useful tip, and now you don't need to filter by monument type first. Here are all the sites with that filter setting for all of England, and you can now page through them with the 'next' link at the bottom of the page as I've fixed the bug that was making it 'forget' the filter setting:

http://www.megalithic.co.uk/search.php?query=&country=1&condition=2&ambience=3&access=4
(with thanks to Drew for reporting that - if you spot something you think is a bug on the site then do mention it in this forum as there are other things I may have missed)

Looking for Spectacular Sites with Easy Access?

You can use the search functions to find sites with both great condition and easy access. If you or your companions aren't up for a 5 mile romp to see a badly decayed dolmen, use the Megalithic Portal Functions to help select for your next outing.

You can use the main menu "Browse by County/Type". Click for the country and county (or region). This will take you to a search results page.

At the top of the new page, in addition to the "completed fields for your selection, you'll see fields that will allow you to refine the search for the type of site. Or, look a bit farther down to "NEW: Filter by site ratings, including disabled access."

By selecting higher numbers for "Condition" "Ambiance" and "Access" you will find the most easily visible, spectacular, and easily accessible sites.

For example, click this link for sites in Wiltshire that are Condition 2 (Ruined but Recognizable,) Ambiance 3 (Ordinary,) and Access 4 (Short walk on a footpath) http://www.megalithic.co.uk/search.php?query=&country=1&category=0&county=30&sitetype=&days=0&condition=2&ambience=3&access=4
Remember, very few sites are "4 - Almost Perfect" for condition, and we're hard graders here. (Stonehenge rates 3, 2, 4, right now.) Play around with the ratings and find the types of sites you want to see.
