A very small Rune's Request for the visitors to Arbor Low.
Could you let me know if you hear anything unusual when you're on the henge banks or within the henge, please. It's always windy up there, so I'm interested in anything that wouldn't immediately be ascribed to ordinary wind-noise.

Am considering places for a walk on the Sunday and thought I'd throw some options on here for comment & votingish! I'll make a decision after a bit, as I'd like to walk my walk on my own again before taking people 
Close by:
- I could head over robin hoods stride, 9 stones close and maybe Castle Ring (if I got permission)
- a (potentially slightly dull) tour of the different cairns up on Stanton Moor.
Further away (a drive to one of the other Eastern moors)
- Eyam Moor is a bit far but a great 2-4 hours circular romp
- Gardrom's Edge is fairly topical and fits the talk on the sat but a bit linear unless you come back along Birchen Edge which makes it again 2-3 hours...

The Megalithic Portal Live in the Derbyshire Peak District, Saturday 28th and Sunday 29th July 2012.
A free weekend of guided walks and talks with archaeologists and prehistory experts. With displays, book stall and refreshments in Birchover Reading Room, near Stanton Moor. There are dozens of ancient sites within easy walking distance, check the map on our web site.

The hall is at SK 236 621 but there will be NO parking immediately by the hall. Parking for Stanton Moor is at SK 241 625 (postcode near DE4 2LR for sat navs). This is a 500 m walk from the hall and will be signposted, or please park considerately in Birchover village.

I camped at Barn Farm about 6 years ago, lovely campsite, quite full end of June but I got a space after just turning up.
Spoilt slightly by the noise of the quarry nearby, but not sure that ones still going...

To summarise though am happy to lead people over to Nine Stones / Robin Hoods Stride on the Sunday, its a nice walk I've done before. Maybe get a chance to check Dudwood circle...
Should also be able to pop over and check out the hall but it would have to be a Saturday or Sunday.
