That site page was already there in that location. I think it may have come from
Aubrey Burl's Stone Rows gazetteer. (certainly some of them did but we now have a combination of lots of sources)
I took that page over for the 'introduction' page as it seemed quite central
and didn't have any information on it.

I'm sure you're right. This needs sorting out.

Calling the intro page 'Lakehead Hill' makes all the photos come up on
that page (but that's part of the idea). Unfortunately we don't have any
control over that due to the way it works. And we're stuck with getting
the first 20, with 'click to see all the photos', and the order is not
easy to control unfortunately.
We can choose our favourite Lakehead Hill photo for the top of the page
(and to appear on the search page) which I've not done yet.

Generally we have the 'nearby sites list' to do that as we have too many
pages to be able to do diagrams for all of them. An overall picture of all the sites, with annotations would be good though.
Please carry on posting comments and corrections on the appropriate
pages and photos until we get this sorted out.
If any of the current pages need moving, deleting or combining then
we'll do it.

Thanks Andy, I've been working hard today to help with this problem, but as I've emailed you separately, there are a few errors in this site page, (title, etc.) and I think there are far too many photos on it to make it work.
A single 'Lakehead Hill' page, with refs to each site with one photo of each, and click-links directing people to the individual page would be less confusing. In fact, it would be similar to what we already had!
[But without the ones which don't link in with what's on the ground... the three 'text' only links... one of which was hi-jacked to make this page.]
(I really didn't realise that I'd posted that one so long ago!)
Who's guilty now?

As they are so close together I've kept Lakehead Hill 6 with the cist and Lakehead Hill 7 on the one site page: "Lakehead Hill South Cairn Circle & Cist". All the photos of these three should now link to that page

I'm glad this was brought up, because when I posted the Lakehead Hill 'South' site of the cairn circle with cist, and the nearby cairn circle, I had to wade through all those others trying to check out if it was already posted. If you cross-reference the OS grid numbers with the online map (I use the lime green one, after checking thoroughly on my own large Dartmoor OS map which I use when I go there), some were nowhere to be seen.
I've still got two more sites to put up which Jackie and I visited in September...*when* I get around to it!
It's confusing with Dartmoor Nat. Park Auth. having their own posts with numbers on (presumably to aid their organised rambles), and Butler (whose books are the 'bible' of Dartmoor sites, I think). However - he lumps them all together on a map, but gives each site on the map a ref no. so you can follow his text... hence the '5' and '6' used. I had to coin the name 'south' for that site, as it seemed most logical.
If anything ever needs checking out, maybe I can go up and do it, as long as it isn't icy! Those roads can be treacherous in winter.

I have sorted out and reorganised many of the Dartmoor pages over the last few years, but never the Lakehead sites because I have never visited them, and basically dont have enough time to sort out even all of the places I have visited myself. I would agree it would be good if somebody does the same for Lakehead.
Generally for Dartmoor, I try and work using the Butler nomenclature, as it seems to be the most readily available - with the exceptions of stone circles and rows, where the Burl nomenclature has been used. To save on confusion, it would probably be best to stick to Butler - but with any other, eg Burl, Worth names included as alternate names, and then searches would work for all names.
An overview page works well, and this is what I have done for many of the other sites with multitudes of different "components". This is what I have done for Drizzlecombe (still not finished!), Shovel down and others. The overvie page (Lakehead) would have a general write up of the sites, and perhaps an annotated overview picture. Teh components should be called something like Lakehead SW, and then the portal would associate all pictures in to the Lakehead overview site, but keep the individual parts seperate.

This is an interesting site whose site pages need a little reorganising, I reckon.
We have 7 site pages at the moment, but the naming seems to be a bit inconsistent.
Should they be named Lakehead Hill 1,2,3.. etc? As per the referenced Butler's Dartmoor Atlas of Antiquities Vol.2 - The North.
It might be nice to have an overview site page with diagram of the whole complex.
