Your info doesn't say much about you either, Vlad - nor does most people's. I don't know how old anyone here is, do you? How do you know if the info provided is correct? i don't think it matters. You either connect with someone or you don't. Age, gender, location - it's irrelevant for discussing things on a forum like this one, I think. As for GSOH - you can tell that from the posts

You see, mynd, it would be good if you placed some details about you in your member card. Otherwise, we could only suppose things about you. You are American, 15 years old, right!? Nay... I haven`t thought that either. Next supposition. Have you decided to be "like them" after following "Heroes" on TV!? No, no; no offence. I like them very much, too. But it`s good that Runemage is so fine a person, right!? Yeap; it`s going not so easy to make friend with those arrogant alfa-males!?

That sounds interesting - is the book good?

I'm just over halfway through, so far so good, lots of Eastern ideas and philosophies - mainly Taoist - which I like anyway.
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Radiant-Warrior-Jason-Chan/dp/1848501579

In the workshop, I liked the way he spoke, have you ever heard a Chinese person say Tao te Ching, it sounds so resonant, almost musical. He explained the different concepts in a good easygoing style with humour then got us all to stand up and raise some chi with exercise then use it on ourselves in a healing meditation with some visualisation, white light mainly and breathwork.

All I need now is the time to finish the book and meditate on the ideas in it!

I did a workshop with Jason Chan at the weekend, very interesting on raising and working with chi, very Taoist which of course says trust and rely on no-one but yourself. I was given a copy of his new book The Radiant Warrior a couple of weeks ago, so I decided to go along to the workshop. His path isn't an easy one but for me he does walk his talk, have a read if it appeals.

Ahh, we are on the same hymnsheet. Yes I totally agree. These issues come into focus exactly for that purpose.

Absolutely!!

there seems to be a link here, with physical symptoms pointing the way to a need to address an inner problem, and emotional/psychological issues being reflected in our personal experiences.
all messages coming to us from somewhere. i suppose a person considered to be a shaman would be someone who is more tuned in to this, and is able to work with it somehow.

Yes, technically we are all shamen, each of us works with energy every second of everyday, but most are completely unaware of it. I would expect most Shamen on a traditional level are trained to understand and work with the "energies of the tribe" however they manifest themselves.

Centering has been mentioned. This is an important part of shamanic practice I feel - only if you can hold yourself in balance will you be able to detect those forces that are trying to unbalance you, so to speak.

My explanation was very poor Venutius, sorry.
I meant, that he'd advise anyone, to look from a Taoist perspective and to look within and heal the thing they were having difficulty with, so as you heal your own mistrust from within, you no longer give that out and therefore you no longer receive it.
