Rubbish remover defies Mexican government, donates treasures found in trash to charity.

A Queens rubbish remover who found ancient Mexican artifacts while cleaning an apartment donated some pieces to a charity auction Monday night, defying legal threats from the Mexican government. Nick DiMola, 39, offered a tripod bowl, a broken part of a vase and four figurines as one lot for a Westchester County fund-raiser for kids with cerebral palsy.

"I get more joy, more satisfaction from the heart for donating them," DiMola said of the treasures.

DiMola stumbled upon the booty, valued at $16,500 in total, when his Ridgewood business was hired in 2004 to clear out the SoHo apartment of artist Clinton Hill.
