Front page created for news items and no maps
So bookmark this if you don't want the maps.

Not for the moment I'm afraid. I would like to build more functionality into the on-page maps so let me know if you can think of anything that would improve them.

The other one was 'view graphical front page' which had a load of icons on that I've never liked very much. I merged the best part of this, the maps onto the main page. You can get to everywhere in the drop-down menu.

What I can do is take the maps off the 'news' version of the front page

So bookmark this if you just want pure news items.

Andy - useful to have the map icons on the home page like this, but do they need to take up quite so much space? I also can't quite remember now what the quick links are which have disappeared just above the map icons...there are only 2 left now (View what's new, and more pictures) - I'm sure there were more options before the maps went in?

I like the thick black border around the images.

I've brought back the old style Megalith Maps onto the home page. They link to the new Yahoo maps on all our Search and Browse pages. These now give worldwide high-res map coverage for all the sites in our database.

I've also made some minor page formatting tweaks to the gallery. Also a more prominent reminder to visitors about image copyright. I hope they are an improvement.
