I have been invited to Wales to visit friends...but in Pembrokeshire.I think there is an old circle quite close to the village where I'll be staying,if I get there this year or even next,I'll let you know.

Hi Albert.
I don't really know what is carved (if anything) and what is natural weathering, I've only seen it close up twice. The first time was to take a couple of pics for further reference. Having decided it was worth a look, my second and subsequent attempted visits were hindered by inquisitive cattle.
They were probably wondering why a creature with two legs, of the sort that normally brought food, was more interested in their scratching post.
If you are ever in the area, let me know. Even if this is not real there are plenty around here that are.

Well whatever it's origins it is certainly something I'd like to visit.
There does appear to be other carvings/markings on it..is this just a trick of the light or are there any others on it?

Again, this is not my speciality so I am happy to be wrong, but this looks remarkably like a rock cut basin to me. particularly with the sort of "outlying" basins which are quite characteristic.

If I was being really pernickity , I would say that single cups are usually found at the extremities rather than smack dab in the middle but it may have came from an outcrop which has more and that is just the a quarried section .There are plenty of examples of recently carved rock art and erected stones , but both ?
