Anyone wanna buy a copy of Megalithic Rings? Only £50,000.00. Or to make it easier, I'll swap it for a 2-3 bedroomed place in the Scottish mountains! Honest! C'mon....y' know it's worth it!

Screwy thing is George - literally one day after Mikki had bought the book, a copy of it appeared on eBay - with a starting bid of 99p!!!!! AAAAAARRRGGGGGHHHHHHH!! It sold for £41 though - which would still have been worth it for me.

.....Now.....what else do I need...?

Ooh yeah - just thought. I need a 2-bedroomed house in the Scottish mountains (preferably West Coast-side). Anyone know where I can get one of them cheap? Either to rent or.....well, just to rent. I can't afford to buy one. Unless someone knows if there's one going damn cheap!

Hi George (and anyone else who may have looked) -

At long last, after wandering the fabled bookshops and antiquarian jaunts for 10 years and more, in search of this fabled tome, my dearest lady, Mikki, has, from some secret forbidden store (Oxfam books actually!) scraped thru the ages of dust and musty-book-scents, and enabled this great work to emerge from its hidden depths and, magickally, it popped thru mi letterbox this morn without me knowing it was on its way!

Hurrah!!!

My life-long search is over! Huge thanks to my lovely lady Michala!

.....Now.....what else do I need...?

Nay...not really. Though p'raps a photocopy of the entire book might be good! I'm just after the text to extract all those excellent ground-plans. I contacted one of the Oxford bookshops recently to ask if they'd got a secondhand copy - only to be told that I'd registered (and was still on their files) for a copy of the book on their records from ten years ago!!!. It'll no doubt appear soon enough...

Sheffield Uni library should have it if photocopies suffice .

Hi there -

Does anyone out there know where I can get hold of the book, Megalithic Rings (Oxford 1980) by A. Thom, A.S. Thom & A. Burl? Any help gratefully received. And I'll pay good money for a good copy, though I'd buy one in any condition, ex-library, etc.

Cheers - Paul

I just had a look at Archaeopress who sell lots of BAR reports but they didnae have that one .

Cheers for looking George. I've been after this bugger for ages and can't find it anywhere (apart from Bradford Libary, in the 'Reference Only' section). None of the secondhand books sites have it listed. S'ppose I'll just have to be patient...
